Did you know that one of the tippical plates of the Douro is the roast partridge in oven? The partridge is a very atractive bird for hunters, because it lives in wooded areas. In the Douro region, the partridge is very appreciated and, frequently, accompanied with red wine.

Did you know... ?

Did you know that there are still producers of red wine that tread the grapes in the winepress? Formerly, the red wine was all trampled by several men at the mill. Today, only the smaller, more traditional producers is that they continue to do so.

Despite being exhausting, men embraced each other, treading the grapes as they sang.

In the Régua Valley, the capital of Douro, Quinta das Parcelas is situated on the right side of the river.
António Vicente, farm owner, gave this name to the farm because it was made of several parts, that belonged to various members of the family. From generation to generation, these parts were passed and today, it's a beautiful farm.
Quinta das Parcelas produces a red wine called Milhafre Negro Tinto. It is constituted by these varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. This set gives an intense aroma to this wine.
