Raposeira sparkling wine / Espumantes Raposeira










For over 100 years, Lamego is one of the most prestigious wine regions. The Raposeira sparkling wine is one of the best in Portugal and this success is due to the production process.
The humidity, light and temperature must be appropriate to achieve the best quality.
 The Raposeira sparkling wine is divided into Old Reserve, Super Reserve, Reserve and Gourmet.

Old Reserve

  • Brut - The Raposeira Velha Reserv Brut sparkling wine is a top of the range and has a smooth and lingering taste.

Super Reserv

  • Brut - Advised to accompany meats, has a fresh and unique taste.
  • Half dry - With an aroma of ripe fruit, it is advised to accompany desserts.

Reserves

  • Brut - This quality is to be served as an aperitif or digestif and has a taste of apple.
  • Half dry - With a fresh taste, this is ideal for desserts and sweets.
  • Sweet - This has the same quality features of the Reserv Half dry.

Gourmet

  • Super Reserve Rosé Brut - Pink colored, this sparkling wine is advised to accompany white meats, pasta and seafood.
  • Super Reserv Red Wine Brut - This sparkling wine is suitable for heavier and typical dishes such as lamb and suckling pig.
  • Super Reserve Blanc of Blancs Brut
  • Super Reserve Blanc of Noirs Brut

The Douro region is occupied by 40000 hectares of vineyard area. It is in this area of Portugal that is produced one of the best red wines in the world.
There are red wine to be consumed young wine and wine "of guard". The red wine meant for consume has a ruby color. These wines are consumed in their first years after harvesting and are suitable to accompany meat dishes, cod-fish, pasta and pizzas. The young red wine should be served between 55.400ºF and 59.000ºF temperature.
The Red "of guard" have a more intense flavor and color. Typically, these wines are labeled as Reserve or Grand Reserve. They must accompany red meat or the typical roasted goat, between 60.800ºF and 64.400ºF.

Red wine is one of the best of Douro. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz (Aragonez), Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão are the varieties of grapes that originate this wine. 

Usually, Red wine is made up of different qualities. This is one of the characteristics of this type of wine. The mixture of this varieties of grapes results in a wine with a wonderful taste.

Such as the Port wine, there is red wine to consume young and guard ("de guarda").
