Vila Pouca de Aguiar’s Potatoes Although wine is the best known product of Douro, there are other products with good quality produced in this rich region. In Vila Pouca de Aguiar, the potato is the queen and it’s one of the great productions of the region. This region lives mostly thanks to the agriculture. Potatoes are an excellent company to roast lamb, another gastronomic pearl of Douro.

The persimmon is a fruit of the Douro region. It has an orange color and a bittersweet flavor. Persimmons are eaten when they are very mature. This fruit is found only in the fall, since it is very difficult to keep him. They last only a few days after being ready to eat.

Did you know that the 4th “show” of Cherry Penajóia takes place this week-end? This village is located north of Lamego and produces a higher quality of fruits in the region. The cherry Penajóia is widely used for making liqueurs and jams.

Gastronomy: Quinta do Crasto



Quinta do Crasto is located on the right margin of the Douro River between Régua and Pinhão. It is a property with a prime location in the Douro Region.
