APHVIN / GEHVID (Associação Portuguesa de História da Vinha e do Vinho / Grupo de Estudos de História da Viticultura e do Vinho do Porto)

Founded in 2006, it aims to develop and enhance research on the History of Vine and Wine. It begins its studies in the wine from the Douro region but expands to the general study of the practices and techniques of vine cultivation. In its activity, they collaborate with the Institute of Port, Douro’s region authorities, companies and institutions of national wine sector. The APHVIN / GEHVID helps graduate students and PhD students who share the same area of interest. This group makes conferences nationally and internationally and include the publication of a scientific journal called Douro: “Estudos e Documentos”.
